- Take care to complete your entry form correctly; missing information or illegible handwriting can handicap your entry.
- Give a short description of unique or unknown cheeses e.g. soft cheese with natural rind and pronounced flavour. The more the judges know about your cheese, the better they can evaluate it.
- Consider sending whole cheeses (or half in the case of exceptionally big cheeses) Cut cheese or a smaller portion does not “show” as well as whole cheeses, which impress the judges more.
- Label your entries with the Agri-Expo exhibitor’s labels you will receive.
- Take great care when selecting and preparing your products before dispatching them. Appearance counts more than what the points on the score sheet reflect.
- Place your products in sturdy packaging and not in outsize outer packaging. Damaged products do not do well at competitions. Protect your products with shredded paper or other types of “soft” material.
- Mark your packaging with the words: “REFRIGERATE; DO NOT FREEZE” when using third party transporters.
