  1. PROMOTIONS OF QUALITé AWARDS AND PRODUCTS
    Exhibitors agree to donate 12 kilograms of any cheese, which obtained a Qualité Award.  These cheeses will be promoted at retail, food service and consumer promotions in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Knysna.  This is done in conjunction with the Gold Veritas wines.

  2. BLIND JUDGING
    Judging is blind and the manufacturer identity will be removed and/or covered.

  3. NUMBER OF ENTRIES PER CLASS
    An exhibitor is limited to a maximum of ONE (1) entry per class per brand in the case of products with added condiments and composition differences e.g. yoghurt and cottage cheese.

  4. OWN AND OTHER BRANDS
    The same product cannot be entered under both a company and retail brand name        UNLESS there is a significant ingredient and manufacturing difference between the products.

  5. IDENTIFYING PRODUCTS
    Products and their outer containers must display the SA Dairy Championship exhibitor labels supplied by Agri-Expo.  Outer containers, containing products from different classes, should display the manufacturer’s name and South African Dairy Championships exhibitor labels on the outside thereof.

  6. ENTRIES
    Entry fee: R80.00 inclusive per entry and must accompany entry forms

  7. RETAIL BRAND NAMES
    Manufacturers of retail/other brands should enter the product(s) under their company name, using the retailer’s name as the brand name.

  8. CONDIMENTS
    Condiments are foodstuffs allowed in the Regulations relating to Milk and Dairy Products in the SA Foodstuffs, Cosmetics and Disinfectants Act No. 54 of 1972 but do NOT include milk solids.

  9. PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
    Any product entered into this competition MUST be freely available in its respective market sector.  A product, which has been awarded a prize and is not available, might lose such a prize.

  10. A product scoring more than a pre-determined average point on the 30-point scorecard receives a Qualité Award.

  11. The product obtaining the highest average point in any of all the classes is awarded the Product of the Year accolade.

  12. Ties are resolved with the Chief Judge’s score.

  13. Prizes will only be awarded if a minimum of three products have been entered into a class.

  14. The Chief Judge reserves the right, in conjunction with the exhibitor, to enter a product into a more appropriate class.

  15. Entries must comply with the regulations of their respective countries and/or the Codex Alimentarius Standards of the WHO.  It is the responsibility of the manufacturer of a Qualité Award product to supply Agri-Expo twice in the ensuing year with documentary proof of bacteriological and chemical compliance.
