About the SA Dairy Championships
The aim of the SA Dairy Championships is to recognise and reward the quality of dairy products and to promote these products in marketing campaigns. This contributes significantly to promoting excellence in the dairy industry and elevates the profile of the industry amongst consumers. The growing number of entries is a clear indication of the high level of confidence dairy processors have in the Championships and is confirmed by the record number of 885 entries from 85 producers in 2016.
The cheese category is the largest, taking up more than half of the entries. The number and quality of goat’s milk- and continental cheeses increased significantly over the years, which is mainly due to a growing demand and innovation amongst cheese makers. The SA Dairy Championships is unique in South Africa and is regarded by the industry as a world-class event.
